When Documents Leave an Impact

A document beside a speech bubble holding a heart

I always thought of the translation process as a straightforward one: render the meaning into another language, and you are done. But over time, I began to hear and feel the human side of it, and there is something quietly extraordinary about it.

You hear the worry behind a medical report, the rush to translate a marriage or birth certificate for a visa, the sincere care and protection expressed in wills, the passion behind a degree certificate, and the excitement when it comes to a driving licence.

We are no longer just doing a job. We are holding parts of people's lives in our hands, people who have simply placed their trust in us.

Careers can change the way we see human nature, and I believe translation has shown me a different perspective. It's as though it's saying, "Hi, I have a role in your life, even if you don't see it yet or never expected it. But I am here if you need me."

And the essence of the job, in the end, is to deliver it all: not only the meaning, but everything that may lie behind it. So I believe documents can speak too, but in a very unique way.
